Ladies & Gents,
Details of the rescheduled day walk to Cat Law:-
Cat Law (678 mtrs) is a Graham (a Scottish hill between 2000 and 2499 ft high) near Kirriemuir in Angus. Web research suggests that it is a rounded, heather clad, hill with a trig point at the summit and expansive views of lowland Angus on a fine day.
The map suggests that parking possibilities on the east side of the hill (Glen Prosen) are a bit limited so I propose to start from Backwater Reservoir to the west.
Date: Sunday 11th March
Start Time: 10:00am
Start Point: Carpark at Backwater Reservoir at GR: 260 598
Map: Sheet 44 (Ballater)
Route: Footpath through the pass at Craig of Balloch; join track and follow it up Glen Quharity; climb the Hill of Stanks; cross Bodandere Hill and climb steadily to the top of Cat Law. Descent via Craig Marloch and Tombay.
Distance: 12 miles
From Aberdeen: A90 to Forfar; A926 to Kirriemuir; B951 to Dykend; Minor road to Backwater Reservoir. Allow about 1-3/4 hrs from Aberdeen.
Please let me know if you plan to join the walk and I will try and coordinate car-sharing.
Best regards,
Jerry
